SURF CHROME

Installing the Google Chrome Browser in most cases will be a breeze.  The only complications will be those with personal firewalls installed such as Zone Alarm or Norton Security. Here are the following steps to complete an install. 

1. Navigate to http://www.google.com/chrome

2. Click Download Google Chrome

3. After reading through the Terms of Service (does anybody really read it), click the "Accept and Install" button.  It's optional to mark the check box. 

5.  After downloading, you'll be prompted if you want to run the software.  Select Run.

If you have Zone Alarm or any other security software like Norton Security, disable it or allow if prompted.

The dialog box will show that it's Initializing.

Expect another Security Alert from ZoneAlarm.

6. The downloading google chrome dialog box will show progress.

Soon, it will change to installing chrome.

7. Welcome to Google Chrome.  You have the option to "Customize these settings" which by default includes importing bookmarks, passwords and other settings.

If you click  Customize these settings then another dialog box appears.

A quick dialog box will appear showing the import of settings.

8.   If you have a Security Program like ZoneAlarm, you may need to allow Google Chrome access to the Internet.

9.  Google Chrome will open for the first time.
